Astangayoga (eight-step yoga) is recommended for adults. Astangayoga effects a deep cleansing process for the body, senses, the mind, and the intellect.

Asanas (yogic postures) are the first part of purification of the body. Pranayama (breath exercise), strengthens the respiratory system, massages the abdominal organs, can decrease restlessness and increase in the minds ability to focus. Asana, pranayama, and meditation combined will manifest satva: order, happiness, clarity and lightness of body. Irrespective of age, anyone can begin a yoga practice.

0 - 18 Months

Develop a practice with your baby that can grow through the years. Babies will participate in gentle movements that can contribute to peaceful rest, easy digestion and kinesthetic connection with the parent. The baby will observe and play as the adult also reaps the countless benefits of asana (yoga posture), pranayama (breath exercise) and meditation practice. The class is structured in a way that creates a rhythm for child and parent.

18 - 36 Months

Children by nature are empathetic. They need and want to be seen as a giver.

Parents and Toddlers can practice yoga togehter. Adults can stretch, relax, breath and observe in yogic postures. Children will practice and play in simple safe postures too. Songs, stories and a basic rhythm make up the class.

3 - 10 Years

Children by nature are empathetic. They need and want to be seen as a giver.

If your child does not sit for a long time, this is the class for them. Yoga is about movement and non-judgement. Children will practice enlivening asanas (yoga postures) together and individually. Breath awareness, focus and autonomy are nurtured in class. A meaningful story will be threaded through the class and retold by the children with yoga poses.

Parents can choose to particpate in class, relax outside... drink tea, take a nap on the chaise lounge, read by the pond or connect with the other parents.

For expectant mothers certain asanas (yogic postures) can contribute to a healthy developing fetus, easeful and joyous gestation, and improve the likelihood for normal birthing.

The goal is to relieve pain, increase circulation, and provide necessary strength to the uterus and secondary muscles that work in unison during labor. Yoga provides both physicaland mental control. Celebrate being one with your baby... soon he or she will out in the world.
